The two release slots boasted more than 700 participants from around the world. The R23-11 recorded more active participation with a lively Q&A discussions and networking sessions than in years past.
This year’s presentations focused on a detailed Feature overview of the R23-11, showing the continuous development of the AUTOSAR standard together with a look to AUTOSAR’s strategic future and a glimpse into 2024.
The presentations began with a thorough introduction to the AUTOSAR organization, the standard, and it’s guiding principles. AUTOSAR’s mission is a global partnership of leading companies in the automotive and software industries, working to develop and establish the standard software framework and open E/E system architecture for intelligent mobility.
Summarized in numbers, the AUTOSAR Release R23-11 had:

In detail, the Release R23-11 included the following concepts.
Classic Platform:
MACsec, Firewall, Charging Interface, Service Discover Control for Application Software, DDS Support on CP, Secure SOME/IP-ACL, Time Validation, Deterministic Communication with TSN
Adaptive Platform:
MACsec, Firewall, Service Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics, Safe API for Hardware Accelerators, Tracing for Adaptive Platform.
The overview of Release R23-11 included a deep dive on features within Safety, Security, Communication, and new AP Architecture.
This first aspect of this is the extension of AUTOSAR partnership types to include Associate Partner Light, which will be available for free and grant exploitation rights for a very limited scope of AUTOSAR standards. The goal is to provide easier access to AUTOSAR compatible components or products.
Second, is the Automotive API Project, which is in the intermediate mode of bridging the AUTOSAR Open Framework. Included here is the AUTOSAR Working Group Cloud (WG-CLD) and the AUTOSAR – COVESA Collaboration.
Furthermore, AUTOSAR believes it is time to stabilize the Adaptive Platform APIs to meet market demand. Already, the Release R24-11 is planned to be a stabilization release for Adaptive Platform.
In summary, the Opening Strategy is well on its way to being finalized. With this strategy, AUTOSAR is well prepared for upcoming trends for SDVs. Currently, a collaboration with COVESA, Eclipse SDV and SOAFEE, known as the SDV Alliance, has been initiated.
